Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each, where the objective is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s net. The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, typically with grass, and is governed by specific rules known as the Laws of the Game. Players primarily use their feet to control and pass the ball, though they can use their heads and other parts of their bodies, except for their hands and arms (goalkeepers being the exception). The sport is known for its global popularity and is played professionally in numerous leagues and tournaments, most famously the FIFA World Cup. Football promotes teamwork, physical fitness, and strategic thinking, making it a widely followed and played sport worldwide. The term “football” may vary in its meaning depending on the region; in the United States and Canada, it typically refers to American football, while most other countries refer to association football as football.
