Premier League

The Premier League is the top professional football (soccer) league in England. Established in 1992, it is contested by 20 teams and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the English Football League (EFL) Championship. The Premier League is known for its high level of competition, showcasing some of the world’s best clubs and players. Each season, teams play 38 matches, facing each other twice—once at home and once away. The league is widely regarded as one of the most popular and commercially successful football leagues globally, attracting substantial television rights deals and international viewership. The team that finishes with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion, while the lowest-placed teams are relegated to the lower division.
